This book records the first discovery dates of every bird ever recorded in New Zealand. It is a scholarly record written over a four year period. Much research has gone into it, it being the first bird book of its kind ever written in New Zealand. Throughout the text are pictures of some of the birds mentioned with summaries of bird dates at the back of the book.
