Photographic Guide to Snakes of India and Nepal

Published by New Holland

Covering over 240 species, primarily native but with the odd exotic, this guide is a comprehensive overview of the wide variety of snakes, lizards, crocodiles, turtles and tortoises found in India. Each description is supported by a colour photograph taken where possible in the snake's natural Indian habitat. The guide looks at the more common species such as the Travancore wolf snake and the Indian black turtle and also focuses on some of the rarer, and in some cases highly endangered, species such as the king cobra, the unique Gharial crocodile and the Indian star tortoise.
