Around 1,000 birders took part in our poll on the Field Guides you would most like to see published in the near future, sharing their preferences with us, and two lucky winners of 50 € worth of Lynx Edicions publications have already been contacted.
These survey results will help us to take into account the opinions of the birding community as we plan our forthcoming field guides.
According to the participants in the survey, the top 10 countries in need of a field guide are the following:
- China
- Brazil
- Argentina
- Russia
- New Zealand
- Colombia
- Bolivia
- Philippines
- Mexico
- Australia
We take this opportunity to remind you of the field guides we have published in recent years:
Birds of Vietnam, Birds of Thailand, Birds of New Guinea, Birds of the Indonesian Archipelago, Birds of Spain, Aves de Portugal (2nd Edition), Aves de España (3rd Edition) and Ocells de Catalunya, País Valencià i Balears (3rd Edition).
We are also glad to announce that we will be publishing two new field guides in Summer 2019:
Birds
There are many more titles in the works, including some of the voted “top ten”, and we will keep working to cover the globe with our Field Guides Collection.
Happy Birding!

Hi, Could you consider publishing regional guides? This would be particularly interesting for areas with a number of countries but for which there may be lower demand for guides individual countries in the region. Central Africa (e.g. DRC, Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, CAR etc.) and north-east Africa (e.g. Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzani).
Hi, You could add Central America to the above wish list ! Why is it so difficult to find guides for that region?
We are happy to let you know that we have just published Birds of the West Indies.
Hi, I look forward to The birds of Argentina. Do you have a estimated release time?
